DESKcohort

Panel survey on social, educational and health aspects among high schooled students in Central Catalonia.

The DESKcohort is a survey of social, educational, health and health behaviours aspects. It is targeted at students from secondary school (aged from 12 to 16), vocational training programs and College-preparatory school (aged from 16 to 18) in Central Catalonia. The study’s main purpose is to address social inequalities in aspects such as education and health. This study consists of a multidisciplinary panel survey which is carried out every two years in Central Catalonia high schools, and it allows to monitor the variables that may have an impact on youth health and well-being in Catalonia. The DESKcohort project is led by Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya with the support of General Subdirectorate of drug addiction of the Public Health Agency of Catalonia and the Education Department. The Catalan Public Health Agency, the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, the Center of Epidemiological studies on sexually transmitted infections and AIDS in Catalonia and Manresa city council also collaborate in this project.
